Dutch rugby combines national performance competitions with mainly regional participation leagues, plus separate women’s, youth and social competitions. This site publishes the men’s, women’s and youth division tables for seasons through 2025/26. Rugby Nederland’s 2026/27 page had published only two men’s first-phase links on 25 August 2026, so only the two Ereklasses are shown for that season.
Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.
Senior men
The men’s system separates performance rugby from the mainly regional participation leagues.
Performance competitions
Ereklasse, Future Klasse and Eerste Klasse form the named performance group.
Participation competitions
Tweede Klasse runs North and South groups; Derde and Vierde Klasse use regional pools.
Senior women
The 2025/26 competition index lists Ereklasse, Eerste, Tweede and Derde Klasse women’s competitions.
National and lower levels
Ereklasse sits above Eerste, Tweede and Derde Klasse in the 2025/26 season index; Rugby Nederland’s general explainer also names a fourth class that was not listed for that season.
Youth
Colts, Junioren and Cubs are age categories with competition groups that can change between phases.
Colts, Junioren and Cubs
The youth catalogue uses Cup, Plate, Bowl, Shield and Ribbon labels across age-specific pools and phases.
