AAC is Amsterdam’s oldest rugby club, founded on 22 October 1930 as the rugby section of an athletics club, which is why the rugby side still plays under an athletics name. The men won 11 national titles between 1939–40 and 1976–77, the women have taken eight with the most recent in 2024–25, and the club started the Amsterdam Sevens in 1972. Its women’s side plays in the Dames Ereklasse.
