DIOK was founded in Leiden in 1971. The club explains its name as Doorzetten Is Onze Kracht: perseverance is our strength. Its men won 13 Dutch national titles between 1980/81 and 2021/22, while the women won the championship in 2000/01.Read the club history

Club history

DIOK preserves an official motto and a conflicting oral-history expansion

The club says DIOK means Doorzetten Is Onze Kracht. A Leiden historical chronicle reports an oral-history variant in which the initials first meant Drank Is Onze Kracht and were later changed after a federation objection.
