How rugby is organised in Slovakia
Competition structureEurope region · Guide updated 27 Aug 2026
Slovenská rugbyová únia governs rugby in Slovakia. The separately run 2025/26 Alpe Adria Rugby Competition is a four-country senior men’s competition, not a Slovak domestic league. The four-card SRÚ directory names Slovan United Bratislava, Slávia Košice, RUC Piešťany, and Žilina Bears as four historical clubs, but those sources still do not give a current Slovak domestic XV or sevens season, an official club list, a results table, or a club history.
Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.
Alpe Adria is a cross-border family
The 2025/26 AARC covers Austria, Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia, with North and South pools followed by playoff and placement rounds that are not settled.
Slovak relationship is not a participant map
The union’s January 2026 minutes say Slovak clubs play in AARC. That does not match any AARC team to a Slovak directory entry or a legal organisation record, so this site shows no team names, scores or final positions for them.
The edition remains incomplete
The AARC page’s stated pool count does not match the rows it shows, and its placement fixtures have no scores. No champion, completed table or final ranking is given here.
Domestic competition remains unresolved
The union mentions separate sevens activity and 2026 domestic-league plans that are not yet settled, but that does not give a current domestic XV or sevens season, list of teams, league structure, table, results archive or link to AARC.
Do not turn governance into a league table
A federation duty, planning talks and club listings do not show a played domestic XV or sevens season, a promotion path, or a link between domestic formats and AARC.
