How rugby is organised in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian Rugby Federation's reviewed programme includes named fifteens, sevens, youth, women's and school rugby branches. This guide keeps those branches separate and does not turn the high-level family map into a complete current season, results service or club directory.

Governing authoritySaudi Arabian Rugby FederationGoverning authorityAsia Rugby

Hierarchy

The country structure

Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.

Domestic rugby-union family map

Asia Rugby's 2026 report names the SARF 15s Series and separate women's tournaments. The checked evidence does not establish a gender category for the fifteens series, current dates, entrants, divisions, fixtures, results or movement.

  • SARF 15s Series

A named federation family, not a verified 2026 season, table, participant field or national pyramid.

  • Women's tournaments

A separate programme branch whose format, age group, season and participants remain unverified.

Sevens remains a separate format

The SARF 7s Series is named separately from the fifteens programme. No current season, event sequence, participant list, table or result archive is projected.

  • SARF 7s Series

A high-level family record only; it is not merged with fifteens, women's tournaments or touch.

Youth and school rugby are not senior tiers

Youth competitions and school rugby appear as separate development branches. The reviewed material does not establish age bands, school or academy identities, qualification pathways or a lower level of a senior pyramid.

  • Touch remains outside the union standings map

The report also names touch and community programmes. Touch is a parallel format and is not represented as rugby-union standings.
