How rugby is organised in Poland

PZR’s competition index lists 19 separate entries across senior men’s XV, age-grade XV, sevens, cups, veterans, friendly events, children, school TAG and U21 rugby. Its statute also recognises regional OZR bodies, but the public pages do not give a current country-wide list of regional competitions or show a domestic senior women’s XV league.
Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.
Senior men’s XV
PZR publishes Ekstraliga Rugby XV, I Liga Rugby XV and II Liga Rugby XV as its national men’s competitions.
National XV families
These are the three senior men’s XV leagues. They are three of the 19 entries in the competition index. This page does not state rules for moving between leagues or a regional division below II Liga.
Ekstraliga editions
The Ekstraliga page links to separate seasons. Season 39 is the 2026/27 season, still in progress. On 2026-08-28 it showed one ten-row table, four completed opening-round matches and fixtures to come. A season URL points to one season, not to a permanent team or match.

PZR’s 20 August 2026 notice approved the I Liga regulations and calendar and classed Ekstraliga and I Liga as Elite Competitions. It does not list teams, results, promotion rules or final standings.
Senior women
The PZR competition index includes women’s sevens but has no domestic senior women’s XV league.

PZR’s index separately lists the senior men’s championship, men’s league, sevens cup, junior, cadet and interregional youth sevens, the senior women’s championship, and women’s U16 sevens.

The national index lists a Polish XV Cup and veterans rugby alongside the league and youth entries.

PZR lists Towarzyskie as a separate event and news category, not a standings ladder.

This entry covers friendly matches and events only. It does not give promotion, relegation, a championship, a table, a complete list of events or honours.
Season-team boundaries
PZR’s public team names can include sponsor names, numbered reserve sides and combined entries. They do not give a lasting public record of which club owns which team.
Named club record required
A sponsor-bearing team name, directory entry or season team name is not treated as a club on this site. Numbered sides and combined entries stay separate until PZR provides a clear club record and a way to correct it.

The 2026/27 Ekstraliga page showed four completed opening-round matches and fixtures to come on 2026-08-28, but the season is still in progress. The completed 2025/26 season has conflicting Cup-group scores that PZR has not resolved, and PZR's official history register is not used here as a club directory or an honours list.
PZR’s directory showed 69 linked rows on 24 August, after showing 70 on 17 August. A separate undated member list has 83 mixed rows. The two lists are kept apart and neither is a complete Polish club list. Ten directory rows are historical names only, and 59 are not listed here yet. This site publishes no Polish club list, team pages or logos from them.
