Hierarchy
Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.
Japan Rugby League One contains Divisions 1, 2 and 3, a Division 1 playoff and season-specific replacement series between adjacent divisions.
Professional operator family
The completed 2025/26 edition is one connected operator family. Division labels, playoffs and replacement matches are phases of that edition, not separate canonical club identities.
