Hungary’s 2025/26 senior men’s XV season had completed Extra Liga and NB I editions, run as separate competitions. Extra Liga includes Austrian entrants, and this page claims no automatic promotion or relegation between the two.
Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.
Senior men’s XV
The Hungarian Rugby Union’s 2025/26 material names Extra Liga and NB I as senior men’s XV leagues.
Extra Liga and NB I
The names are current, but those sources do not publish an automatic promotion, relegation or entry path between them.
Season and phase boundary
Regular season, placement and final labels belong to the 2025/26 season. The union’s final report gives the Extra Liga and NB I title and bronze results, not complete final tables, named teams, or the structure of a later season.
Cross-border participation
The 2025/26 Extra Liga included Austrian entrants in a Hungarian-union competition.
Competition jurisdiction and club geography
Austrian teams took part for that season only. It does not make them Hungarian clubs, and it is not a record of Austrian domestic competition.

The 2025/26 rules state that U20, U18 and U16 XV competitions did not start, while separate U18/U17 Xs tournaments were planned. This applies to one season only. It does not mean there is no youth rugby or a lower senior tier.
