How rugby is organised in Georgia

The Georgian Rugby Union’s mixed-season official catalogue now points Didi 10 and First League to scheduled 2026/27 editions while Regional League, development and some youth evidence remain bounded to 2025/26.

Governing authorityGeorgian Rugby Union

Hierarchy

The country structure

Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.

Senior men’s XV

The current catalogue preserves the senior men’s sequence of დიდი 10 (Didi 10), პირველი ლიგა (First League) and რეგიონული ლიგა (Regional League), but only Didi 10 and First League have verified 2026/27 pages; Regional League remains a historical 2025/26 handoff.

  • დიდი 10 (Didi 10)

The scheduled 2026/27 page establishes a current family handoff. Completed 2025/26 evidence separately distinguishes the regular phase, playoff and final from a First League access series; those are season phases, not additional permanent leagues.

  • First and Regional Leagues

პირველი ლიგა (First League) is separately published and records an automatic promotion outcome plus an access series. რეგიონული ლიგა (Regional League) uses geographic groups and playoff phases; its published promotion and access path is edition-specific.

Senior women

No current domestic senior women’s XV family or senior sevens hierarchy was verified in the checked official catalogue.

  • Evidence boundary

This is a source-coverage gap, not evidence that women’s rugby or other women’s formats do not exist in Georgia.

Development and reserve boundary

The official დუბლები (DBL) page is labelled as a 19–23 youth/development family and is published separately from the senior men’s ladder.

  • 19–23 development

Development entries can draw from more than one senior family and include composite-looking labels. They are not a one-to-one Didi 10 reserve table or a senior promotion tier.

Youth and children

The season tree separately publishes youth A and B leagues, including group and playoff pages, plus children’s festival calendars.

  • Age-grade families

Youth groups and playoffs are age-grade phases, while children’s festivals are activity calendars. Neither is part of the senior men’s movement path.

Regional League phases

რეგიონული ლიგა (Regional League) is one senior family with geographic groupings, upper and lower groupings, playoffs and a final.

  • Geographic groups and playoffs

Group labels and postseason labels describe phases inside the Regional League family; they must not be represented as permanent standalone divisions.
