Suomen Rugbyliitto publishes men’s and women’s national XV leagues, separate men’s and women’s sevens series, junior rugby and touch rugby. Helsinki Rugby Club is named here. Tampere Rugby Club, Warriors Rugby Club Helsinki, and Jyväskylä Rugby Club are historical names only. Appis/SportApp is the federation’s results service, and its 2026 men’s table is incomplete.
Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.
Senior men’s XV
On 2026-08-17, SRL’s competition list showed SM-sarja, Division 1 and Division 2 as separate men’s XV leagues.
Published family order
The federation lists SM-sarja, Division 1 and Division 2. The 2026 SportApp men’s table changed from six to five rows. It does not match a complete list of teams, full results, corrections or a promotion outcome, so it is not used here.
Season-specific movement
In 2025, a promotion playoff was played between that season’s bottom SM side and the Division 1 final-series winner. This page does not treat that as a current automatic promotion rule.
Senior women’s XV
On 2026-08-17, SRL’s competition list showed women’s SM-sarja and Division 1 as separate XV leagues.
Completed 2025 SM-sarja, unresolved movement
The completed 2025 women’s SM-sarja used an eight-match regular season, a semi-final and a final. Tampere Rugby Club won the title. No current promotion or relegation rule is claimed, and teams can change.
National sevens
Men’s and women’s SM sevens are separate domestic tournament series, apart from the XV leagues.
Three-event 2026 series
SRL publishes three 2026 tournament events for each senior sevens series. Entries can change between events, so playing in one event does not make a permanent club or season team.
Junior activity
SRL lists junior rugby separately from the senior XV and sevens competitions.
Separate age-grade scope
The junior category is not a lower senior XV tier and says nothing about senior teams.
Team and format boundaries
The federation also lists touch rugby separately. Domestic competitions can use season, reserve, combined or cross-border entries.
