How rugby is organised in Fiji

Fiji Rugby Union publishes provincial and school competition families rather than a verified national club hierarchy. The Skipper Cup is the leading provincial men's XV family; its union representative sides must not be presented as canonical clubs.

Governing authorityFiji Rugby Union

Hierarchy

The country structure

Permanent leagues, seasonal phases and parallel competitions stay separate so a cup or playoff is not mistaken for a league tier.

Provincial rugby

The Skipper Cup and Vanua Championship are distinct provincial families. Season-specific qualification evidence does not establish a timeless promotion ladder or canonical club identities.

  • Skipper Cup

The completed 2025 record supports a historical championship final. Conflicting generic top-four wording and an official quarter-final event mean the full playoff topology remains unprojected.

  • Vanua Championship

Vanua is a separate provincial family. Any access relationship must remain edition-specific and is not modelled without reviewed participant identities.

Schools and development rugby

Schools, youth and development competitions remain separate from senior provincial rugby and require their own participant and season evidence.

  • Separate identity types

A provincial union representative, school, youth side or development team is not automatically a club.
