Rugbyklubben Speed (RK Speed, commonly Speed) is a rugby union club based in Kastrup, in Tårnby Municipality, Denmark. The club calls itself Denmark's oldest rugby club. It has senior men's and women's teams and a youth section, and hosts the Copenhagen 7s tournament at its ground.
History
The club traces its roots to Ex-Army, a rugby club founded in 1948 by a group of young Danes who had fought in the Second World War under the British flag. On 31 March 1950 a group of young men from Amager agreed to found "an ordinary sports club", which by the club's count became Denmark's first organised rugby club. Several names were proposed, so lots were drawn, and Rugbyklubben Speed came out of a hat; the club has kept the name ever since.
Speed became the first Danish champions in 1961.
The Copenhagen 7s tournament was first played in 1982 and moved around Scandinavia before settling at Speed in 1987, when the club first hosted it at Travbaneparken. It has been played at Speed since then; the 2026 tournament was held on 8 and 9 August.
In August 2022 the men won the Danish cup competition (pokalturneringen), beating Frederiksberg Rugbyklub 17–14 in the final. The club marked its 75th year in 2025 and published a book of its history for the occasion. On 18 October 2025 the men beat Frederiksberg Rugby Klub 12–10 at Travbaneparken to win the Danish championship, by the club's count its 13th Danish title in fifteen-a-side rugby. In 2025 the club also won the men's Danish sevens championship. By February 2026 the club counted 714 current and former players since 1950: 105 women and 609 men.
In the 2026 Danish men's championship (DM Herrer), RK Speed were second in the combined spring table on 18 August 2026, with three wins, one draw and one defeat from five matches, 199 points scored and 59 conceded.

The club's tagline is "Danmarks ældste Rugbyklub" ("Denmark's oldest rugby club"). Its jersey is yellow, and "a great many have pulled the yellow Speed shirt over their heads" over the years. The club's website has an English version, where it calls itself "Denmark's oldest Rugby Club – since 1950".
