Rugby Club Plan-les-Ouates Genève (RCGEPLO), also written RC Geneve Plan Les Ouates and known as the Chevaliers (Knights), is a rugby club in Plan-les-Ouates, in the canton of Geneva, Switzerland. The club plays in the first Swiss division, the LNA, and in Excellence A. It also has a rugby school, junior teams, sevens and an inclusive flag rugby team.
History
The club, then Rugby Club Genève, once faced serious financial problems and merged with Rugby Club Pickwick to become Rugby Sporting Club Genève. In 2008 the Sporting became Rugby Club Genève Plan-les-Ouates.
The players originally trained at Bout-du-Monde, on a pitch in the loop of the Arve. Because that pitch flooded too often, the club moved at the end of the 1980s to the nearby Vessy sports centre. In 2008 the Centre Sportif des Cherpines in Plan-les-Ouates became the home of Geneva's rugby players. Its rugby school was officially created in 1972.
The club lost the 2022 LNA final 37–29 to RC Yverdon. RC Geneve Plan les Ouates had a strong second half and contested the result until the final minutes. By the club's count, it has reached the final five times in the last six editions, winning two titles, and has seven titles in all in its history. In the 2023/24 play-offs it lost 22–27 to Yverdon on 1 June 2024.
The first team played in the LNA in 2023/24, 2024/25 and 2025/26, and in 2025/26 the reserve team, Geneve PLO 2, played in Excellence A. At the 2025 Swiss Rugby Cup finals on 14 June 2025 the reserve team, GEPLO 2, won the FSR Cup final 21–17 against Stade Lausanne 2. The first team did not reach the 2025/26 LNA play-offs.
