Hammarby IF Rugbyförening (Hammarby Rugby) is a rugby union club in Stockholm, Sweden. It is a non-profit association (ideell förening). The club belongs to the Stockholms Rugbyförbund district. It has men's, women's, youth, touch and veterans' sections, and in 2026 its men's first team plays in Allsvenskan Herr 15s Norr. The club's colours are green and white.
History
The club was formed on 1 January 2000. In the club's words, the men had several successful years around 2010, crowned by a Swedish championship silver medal in 2011.
In the club's words, 2014 was a difficult year: the men left Allsvenskan after that season, played in Division 1 in 2015 and returned to Allsvenskan for 2016. In March 2018 the club chose to drop from Allsvenskan to Division 1 for the coming season. It returned to Allsvenskan, which the club calls the highest league in Swedish men's rugby, in 2019, after NRK Trojan withdrew. The women's team held its first training session on 6 May 2019.
The club has at times had a men's development team, often called the Bees; the current development team started in autumn 2021. In 2023 the men lost the bronze match of the Swedish XV championship to Enköping RK. In October 2025 the club's youth players won gold and bronze medals in combined teams. In the P16 age group its players were part of East, together with Erikslund, Trojan and Uppsala.
The club had 318 members at the end of 2025.
