Stavanger Rugbyklubb (SRK) is a rugby club in Stavanger, Norway, founded in 1978. It offers rugby for men, women and juniors and calls itself a family-oriented club. The club is a member of the Norwegian Rugby Federation (Norges Rugbyforbund), the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF), Rogaland Idrettskrets and Idrettsrådet Stavanger.
History
The club was founded on 17 June 1978. In the club's words, its founders were "a group of rugby loving expats - mostly British navy gents and Oklahoma oilmen". They came from the expatriate community, and the club has since become what it calls a family-oriented club. Its teams compete in the Norwegian Championships for fifteens and sevens, and by the club's count it sends players to all the Norwegian national teams.
In the 2025 men's fifteens series the club finished second, with three wins and one defeat, 152 points scored and 40 conceded. Its results included wins of 36–7 against NTNUI, 59–14 against Blindern and 40–0 against Bergen; the defeat was 17–19 against Sagene Idrettsforening in Oslo on 11 October 2025, and Sagene won the table.
At the end of 2025 the club had 130 members, 9% more than a year earlier: 48 men, 19 women, 5 students, 37 juniors and 21 social members. In 2025 the club secured significant corporate sponsorship, launched a new website and online kit store, and welcomed a new coach for the men's fifteens.
Stavanger's opening 2026 men's fifteens fixtures were Blindern v Stavanger in Oslo on 5 September and then, on 12 September, either Bergen v Stavanger or a home match against NTNUI at Lassa, followed by Bergen away on 26 September, Sagene at Lassa on 3 October and the finals on 17 October.
