Sport-Club "Frankfurt 1880" e.V. (SC Frankfurt 1880, SC80) is a multi-sport club in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Its four main sports are hockey, tennis, rugby union and lacrosse, and as of August 2026, with almost 2,800 members, it is one of the largest clubs in Frankfurt by membership. Rugby was the club's founding sport in 1880. The men's first XV won the 2025/26 1. Bundesliga final.
History
The club was founded on 1 September 1880. The "Fußballclub Frankfurt" was formed that day by the merger of the rugby teams of Germania and Franconia, led by the sportsman Hermann Stasny. Rugby was its only sport, at the time mistakenly called football, and the first training sessions took place on the Körnerwiese by Frankfurt Zoo.
On 14 October 1900 the Fußballclub Frankfurt represented Germany against a French team at the Vélodrome de Vincennes; France won 27–17. The club's rugby men won four German championships between 1910 and 1925, the last of them in 1925 with a 33–13 win over SC Linden. In 1914 the club was renamed Sport-Club "Frankfurt 1880" e.V. It bought its present grounds on the Adickesallee in 1922, and from 1923 all its departments competed on their own ground. Sport stopped during the Second World War. The US Army requisitioned the grounds on 23 June 1947; their release was announced for 1 January 1956.
In 1952 the rugby men reached a German final for the first time in decades, losing to Victoria Hannover. In the 1969 final, played at home in front of about 2,000 spectators, they lost 3–22 to a stronger TSV Victoria Linden side from Hannover. It was 38 years before its men played in another final, which they lost 23–15 to RG Heidelberg in 2007. The men then won German titles in 2007–08 and 2008–09, both on the club's ground. In 2019 the club's rugby players won five German titles: the U12, U14, U16 and U18 teams in fifteens, and the men in a final at the club's ground. By the club's count, the men reached 17 German finals between 1910 and 2022 and won eight of them.
In June 2022 the men defended their title with a 29–17 win over TSV Handschuhsheim in front of 2,500 spectators at their own ground, the club's eighth German championship. In 2024 they beat SC Neuenheim 20–14 in the final for a fourth consecutive title. In 2024/25 the men won a fifth title in a row, against TSV Handschuhsheim at their own ground in front of 500 spectators.
In 2025/26 the first XV topped the 1. Bundesliga regular season unbeaten, with 17 wins and one win by forfeit, 90 table points from 18 matches, 1,189 points scored and 99 conceded. On 13 June 2026 it beat SC Neuenheim 35–10 in the final. Its 2026/27 fixtures included an away match against Heidelberger Ruderklub 1872 on 5 September 2026.

Ground
The club's grounds are in the green Frankfurt district of Dornbusch, at Feldgerichtstraße 29, with a clubhouse and restaurant. The club bought the site in 1922. In 2017 the natural-grass training pitch in the north-west of the grounds was replaced with a long-pile artificial pitch for rugby and lacrosse. The teams use artificial pitch III in winter and the main field in summer, with a natural-grass pitch by the car park for the youngest players. In May 2024 the nearby public transport stops were Hauptfriedhof, Miquel-/Adickesallee and Deutsche Nationalbibliothek.

The rugby department fields a first men's team in the 1. Bundesliga, a second men's team, an under-20 team and youth teams from the minis upwards. The second team plays in the Regionalliga Hessen. In 2025/26 it won the Regionalliga Süd-West.
