Menashe Mamouths Rugby Club (Hebrew: מועדון רוגבי ממוטות מנשה), also spelled Menashe Mammoths, is a rugby club in the Menashe Regional Council area of northern Israel. Its players come from the kibbutzim of the area, and it operates under the auspices of the Menashe Regional Council. The club has a senior men's team and children's and youth groups.
History
The club has existed since 2011. It was registered as a non-profit association on 6 September 2017, with the aim of developing and promoting rugby in the Menashe Regional Council area.
A coach recalled that when he arrived at the club its senior side was a development-league team that gave youth players somewhere to continue, and that he then started a senior team there. In one season the Menashe Mammoths were among the eight teams registered for the men's league; young players who had moved up to the seniors had settled in well and, in the Israel Rugby Union's view, were raising the standard. Yizreel beat the Mammoths convincingly in a semi-final.
Honours
By one count, the club has already won several national championships despite its youth, and has sent many players to Israel's national teams.
Ground
The club trains at Moshav Maor. Because of constant clashes with football, the club, like those in Herzliya and Ra'anana, often did not know which facility it would have until a few weeks before the season, a coach recalled. Even so, it was among the clubs that did manage to field full squads.
