Herzlia Hurricanes Rugby Club (Hebrew: מועדון רוגבי הרצליה הוריקנס) is a children's and youth rugby club in Herzliya, Israel. It operates under Bnei Herzliya, by one count the largest municipal sports association in Israel.
History
The club was founded by Ido Tomasis and began activity in the 2022–23 season with children's and youth groups.
In September 2024, as the club began its third season, it explained its name: it wanted a name beginning with H, like the city, considered Hurricanes and Heroes, and chose Hurricanes. It is not connected to the New Zealand team of the same name. About half of its players had come through tag rugby at the Brandeis school and about half through Bnei Herzliya.
At the same time the club aimed to field a senior team within two years, including through cooperation with Reichman University. Herzliya was to host the rugby events of the Maccabiah, and the whole club planned to help with hosting.
Ground
The club trains at Sportek Herzliya (ספורטק הרצליה).
Teams and training
In September 2024 the club had groups from grade 4 to grade 12. It had no dedicated girls' team, but girls played in its mixed groups. As of August 2026, training is on Tuesday and Thursday, 16:00 to 18:00, at Sportek Herzliya. Confirm times with the club.
Club life
The club has a parents' group, holidays and picnics together, and games played in fancy dress at Purim.
