Golan Cowboys Rugby Club (Hebrew: מועדון רוגבי בוקרי הגולן) is an Israel Rugby Union club in the Golan Heights. It has children's, girls', youth and women's rugby groups and runs tag rugby in schools. The women's team plays as the Golan Cowgirls (בוקרות הגולן).
History
The club opened in 2024 in the southern Golan Heights.
On 24 December 2024 a group of Golan women went to a tournament at Wingate to cheer, to watch and "to taste a little of our future as a Golan women's rugby team". On 24 January 2025 the Israel Rugby Union welcomed the Golan Cowgirls to the women's league at the Wingate Institute.
In October 2025 the club hosted a training camp in the Golan for the women's teams of Haifa, Galilee and the Golan ahead of the new season.
Teams and training
As of August 2026, the club runs children's, girls' and youth groups across the Golan, and a women's team that trains in Katzrin. Its activity is spread across several places rather than one ground, including Katzrin, Haspin, Avnei Eitan and Maalot HaGolan. Girls in school grades 3 to 5 train on Thursdays at 16:00 in Avnei Eitan. The club also runs tag rugby activities in schools across the Golan. Confirm times with the club.
Club life
The club calls itself a Golan Heights rugby club whose groups of women, children and youth train in the Golan settlements and Katzrin, and it invites people to "join the family". It also calls itself "a rugby club with groups for women and girls".
