University of British Columbia Men's Rugby is the men's rugby programme of the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. Its first side, the Thunderbirds, competes at the highest levels of BC men's rugby.
History
UBC calls its rugby's traditional club format unique among campus athletics. In 2025/26 the men's team, as UBC RFC (Men's), took part in BC Rugby's Men's Premier competition.
Ground
The Gerald McGavin UBC Rugby Centre in Vancouver is one of the men's venues for 2026/27.
Teams and training
In April 2019 the programme had three sides. The Thunderbirds compete at the highest levels of BC men's rugby, followed closely by the Braves at the next level. The Totems are traditionally a development team for players new to the game.
In 2019 the programme welcomed all athletes and asked prospective players to attend all practices and to come prepared to work and to take instruction from the coaching staff.
